    London’s low-emission zone led to children gaining lung capacity; so why was it blocked in Ireland? Comment & Analysis: Researchers were surprised by how much schoolchildren's lung capacity in London has improved since the controversial, yet highly popular, ultra-low emission zone (Ulez) was implemented, The Guardian and the BBC reported this today. Users of cars, vans, minibuses, motorcycles and other vehicles which do not meet the Ulez standards must pay £12.50 daily charge to drive in the zone, which is nearly as wide as the M25 motorway.
